I have recently come back from almost a year of travelling around the globe. I still haven’t managed to go through all of the photos and video material of all the trips we have done and places we have visited. As part of the world trip we spend (1) around a month road tripping from Los Angeles to New Orleans and then met some friends in New York and attended a wedding in Cape Cod, (2) two weeks of road tripping through Canada, (3) two weeks of sunbathing, surfing and scuba diving in Hawaii, (4) two weeks of exploring Cuba, (5) around 6 weeks in various places in Mexico including Puerto Vallarta for a wedding, (6) a bit more than two weeks in Peru and (7) almost a week in Bolivia. After that first part of the world trip we spent circa 6 weeks at home during Christmas and New Year’s Eve and started the second part of the trip early February. For the second part of the world trip we chose to travel through Asia. The trip started with (1) a stopover in Moscow, (2) two months in Vietnam, (3) a long weekend for a wedding in Sri Lanka, (4) a bit under three weeks in New Zealand, (5) a week in Hong Kong and then (6) three weeks in Japan.

World Trip Preparation

To be able to travel or that long. we had quit our jobs back in London and then gave up our flat. Those few weeks before we started travelling were super hectic. If you ever move flats and can’t take all with you, start well in advance! I probably went to the local charity stuff and donated my clothes like 5x per day during the last few days before we moved out.. at it least it was all for a good cause :)

Hippie Life on The Beach

Coming back from such a year long trip is also not that easy… especially if the entire trip was mostly defined by amazing weather and an endless summer. Adjusting back to London’s weather was a bit tricky. But at least, travelling to so many different places around the globe, I realised that Europe is my favourite continent and London is one of my favourite cities. So adjusting back to real life in London is not as hard as initally anticipated. Though I do miss the beach and the summer..

I have started to write up posts about all the different places we have visited with lots of photos, tips and travel hacks. So just click your way through the photos below to get to the travel information you need. If you have any questions, just let me know in the comments. I read of all them :)

We planned a trip around Europe for seven months, and we have two months to go! I can really relate to you realizing your favorite continent and city are back home. I’ve been realizing that while I love travelling and can never stop, all I really need is at home. I’m excited to go back home! Your trip sounds amazing, I can’t wait to read about your travels to Peru and Bolivia!

Talk about a dream come true! Most people only dream of such an escape, myself included! One day I’ll get there. It must have been so cool to attend all those weddings around the world, giving an extra level of enjoyment to your travels.
