As you know I’m such a beach bum. Give me hot weather and a beautiful beach (for either surfing or scuba diving, or both!!) and I turn into Little Miss Sunshine. Nevis is a little island in the Caribbean that has exactly that: Beautiful and remote beaches with amazing scuba diving and snorkeling sites. I’m not sure about the surfing but the friend we stayed with did lots of kite surfing, so the water adventure sports addicts will be happy in Nevis, too :)
Our Way To Nevis
We flew with a good friend of mine from London to St. Kitts from where we took a ferry over to Nevis. There we stayed with Oli, a good childhood friend of my friend’s. Can’t believe he actually grew up in paradise. His Mom told us that the first few years the only clothes he had were flip flops and boarder shorts haha. Then he was sent to the UK for boarding school.. from sun to rain.. poor little one!
His Mom lives in a beautiful house from which you have a stunning panoramic view. I loved it when it was heavy rain and thunderstorm and we were sitting on her balcony, drinking wine and watching the rough weather unfold.
Things to do in Nevis
There is so much to do in Nevis! We generally spent our days in sunbathing in beach restaurants, scuba diving, exploring remote beaches or just driving around to see more of the island. One day we went sailing and did some fishing and snorkeling which was lots of fun. I love watching the sunset on the ocean. On another day we got up super early in the morning to climb the mountain in Nevis. That was such a cool day. I didn’t enjoy the way up that much but the way down was hilarious! My friend and I turned into little monkeys and fooled around for probably one hour until we were down again haha.
If I haven’t convinced you yet, have a look at the photos below :)
